Building A Home Recording Studio On A Budget

Greetings, friends! I did one of these a couple years ago, and I figured it was time to start an updated version. I’ve been recording at home for some years now, and the process has been fun, but very frustrating at times, particularly when it comes to knowing what to buy when you don’t have a whole lot of money to spend. Thankfully, the DIY recording community is growing, and more and more good information is becoming available on the internet. I’ve created this infographic for anybody who may be just starting out. Hopefully this will help point you in the right direction!

More items and links available on the extended version here.

My latest recording (with a list of what I used below):

Recording Software: Logic X
Microphones: Stellar CM6 and Shure SM57
Headphones: Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro

God’s Not Dead! – My Spotify Playlist

It has been some time since the Newsboys album ‘Born Again’ has come out, and I am still crazy about it. For when I’m in the mood to rock out to that style of music, I’ve created a killer Spotify playlist, and I want to share it with you. It’s pretty much all the upbeat modern sounding Christian rock stuff like ‘God’s Not Dead,’ ‘Born Again,’ and stuff like it from bands like Sanctus Real, Seven Places, Building 429 and more, so follow the list hit play, and get ready to rock out!

Last Minute Stocking Stuffers

Merry Christmas everyone! Hey, I was a little late getting my single ‘What Child Is This’ out, so this isn’t gonna benefit everybody right before Christmas, but for those of you who live in the Medford, Oregon, USA area, I have 50 download cards available to sell to you for your cards and stockings this Christmas. If we can arrange to meet somewhere in Medford in person, I could get some of these to you in time for Christmas. Message me via the contact form if you are interested. Maybe tomorrow after church, or Tuesday before the Christmas Eve service or something? The card will allow the recipient one download from the CDBaby store here: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/havenyates

You may purchase them @ $1 for one card, or if you want more, I’ll give you a killer deal! How about half off for 10 or more?

If you still haven’t heard the song, here is the full length preview:

What Child Is This – Acoustic Performance

Hey everybody! It’s been a long time since I’ve posted, I know. Well now I’ve got some new stuff going on that I’d really like to share, starting with, drumroll please, my first single available in stores for digital download! I am totally excited about this. I was able to take a road trip up to Tacoma Washington to get together with my good friend, band member, and producer Jonathan Hendrix, to put down tracks for 5 new songs. They are not all finished, but one of them very nearly is, and just in time for Christmas! Until the official track comes out, I thought maybe I would share the acoustic performance version with you, via a nice little YouTube video. Merry Christmas! Here it is for you to enjoy and share:
